My cast iron pans are sexy. They cook food evenly, retain heat well (which provides better cooking control), are non-toxic and you don’t even need soap to clean them. Not to mention they are macho looking (big, black and heavy) and can cook just about anything. And they're cheap too!
I recommend that you get a 10 inch Lodge Logic Series pan like the one pictured. They are pre-seasoned right out of the box and clean up easily after cooking. All you have to do is scrub your pan with water, dry with a towel and either spray or wipe on a little cooking oil. Never put your cast iron pan in the dishwasher or use it to store food.
