A great wine for your both to learn on.

I was delighted when I saw Barefoot Cellars, a California wine and bubbly company while strolling down an aisle at the Toronto Gourmet Food and Wine Show a few weeks ago. Their wines bring back fond memories for me.

Barefoot Cellars is a great base wine because the price is decent and the quality of the product is very delicious. Currently, I am a fan of the Pinot Grigio and the Merlot. These value California wines pair well with either conversation and/or food. If you are just starting to indulge in the world of wine try all of the varieties of Barefoot so you can get an idea of what works best for you.

I remember the first time I purchased a bottle of Barefoot wine from Trader Joe's in Los Angeles in 1996. I loved the label. I did judge this wine by its cover and the low price was right too. Well the marketing and price point worked for me. These wines, in particular the Merlot were among my favorite to bring to the table while wooing women with food during my early to mid 20's in Los Angeles.

Still to this day you can find bottles ranging in price from $5 to $12 all over the United Stated. In Ontario, Canada they cost $9.95. The Modesto, California winery is one of the fastest-growing in the United States, and has been awarded more than 325 medals in 2007 alone.
